SECTION 1: CHARACTER CREATION

1.1 - Creating a User Account
Register with a name that reflects your character. Please avoid modern usernames or references (e.g., no "CowboyJakeX99").

1.2 - Character Background
Characters should reflect the time and region of 1923 Texas. Occupations include ranch hands, homesteaders, townfolk, lawmen, farmers, and more. Avoid futuristic or anachronistic roles.

1.3 - Character Name
Use period-appropriate names. First and last names are required.

1.4 - Character Biography
Each character must have a posted biography including birthplace, age, occupation, and a brief life story. Characters with military or law enforcement history should reflect real historical roles (e.g., WWI veterans).

1.5 - Playing Your Character
Keep character actions and speech era-appropriate. No knowledge or behaviors that wouldn't exist in 1923 (e.g., don't reference modern tech or slang).

SECTION 2: POSTING

2.0 - Word Count
Each post must be at least 50 words. This helps drive narrative and interaction.

2.1 - Content
Content must remain within the setting of early 20th-century Texas. Posts with fantasy, sci-fi, or modern elements will be removed.

2.2 - Format
Use proper paragraph formatting. No script-style dialogue. Use standard prose (third person, past tense).

2.3 - Spelling & Grammar
Strive for readable, correct writing. Occasional typos are okay, but excessive errors may be flagged for editing.

2.4 - Using NPCs
You may use town NPCs (e.g., shopkeepers, ranch workers), but do not kill, injure, or majorly alter them without approval.

2.5a - Posting for Others
Do not write actions or thoughts for another player's character unless they have given prior consent.

2.5b - God Modding
No invincible characters or impossible feats. Injuries, fatigue, and failure should be realistically portrayed.

2.6 - Posting Commitment
Please post regularly (at least once every 7 days). If you cannot, please use the LOA system.

2.7 - Leave of Absence & Reserves
Notify an admin if you'll be absent. You may request your character be put on "Reserves" status.

2.8 - Inactive Player Character
After 14 days without notice, your character may be moved out of active play.

2.9 - Suspension due to Inactivity
Inactive accounts over 30 days may be deactivated. Bios and posts will be archived.

SECTION 3: PROGRESSION

3.1 - Ranch Role Progression
Players may move up within ranch hierarchies (e.g., from ranch hand to foreman) through RP and approval by ranch owner/admins.

3.2 - Town Occupation Roles
Promotions (e.g., deputy to sheriff) occur through activity, character development, and admin discretion.

3.3 - Business Ownership
You may apply to run your own ranch, store, or saloon. Applications should include layout, NPC staff, and backstory.

3.4 - Story Recognition
Players who contribute significantly to ongoing plots may be recognized IC (e.g., land grants, town awards).

3.5 - Role Creation
If you'd like to introduce a new kind of role or concept, contact staff with your proposal first.

SECTION 4: COMMUNITY STRUCTURE

4.1 - Local Governance
Each ranch and town area will have designated leaders (e.g., mayor, ranch owner) either NPC or PC. These roles are not absolute and depend on active RP.

4.2 - Site Administration
Admins moderate the RP, enforce rules, and assist with disputes. Respect their decisions.

4.3 - Conflict Resolution
IC disputes should stay IC. OOC disagreements must be brought to staff via PM.

SECTION 5: STORY & MISSIONS

5.1 - Event Organization
Admins or approved players may organize events (e.g., cattle drives, dust storms, outlaw attacks). Participation is optional but encouraged.

5.2 - Submitting Event Ideas
Have a plot idea? Submit it to staff with a basic outline, proposed NPCs, and intended outcomes.

5.3 - Lore Adherence
All missions must be historically grounded in 1923 Texas. You may not alter canon elements (e.g., inventing railways or large towns that don't exist in the RP map).

5.4 - Player Consequences
Actions have consequences. A failed robbery might land you in jail. Starting a fight could mean injury or death. Keep realism in mind.

These rules help ensure our community remains immersive and enjoyable for all. By joining the 1923 RP, you agree to abide by them.
